引言是以描述背景的句子來開頭。「背景句 (background)」重複使用題目裡的字彙，但卻不是整個題目照抄。「平衡句 (balancing)」，也就是提出另一個與題目和背景句相反的可能看法。 ☑「背景句 (background)」的好用句型： In recent years, ... 近年來，…… It cannot be denied that ... 不容否認的是，…… It is true to say that ... 這話說得沒錯，…… Many people believe/consider that ... 很多人相信／認為，…… There is no doubt that ... 無庸置疑的是，…… ☑「平衡句 (balancing)」的好用句型： Although this may be true in some cases, ... 雖然這在某些情況下或許為真，…… However, there are two sides to this statement. 不過，這樣的說法有兩個方面。 However, this is surely not the only way to look at the question. 不過，這肯定不是看待問題的唯一方式。 However, while this may be true to some extent, 不過，這在某種程度上或許為真，…… On the other hand, 另一方面，…… ☝注意！請留意 in recent years 此片語，其中必須使用現在完成式，而非不可使用現在簡單式或過去簡單式。例如： In recent years, there has been a drop in the birth rate in my country. 近年來，我國生育率有所下降。 ※ 以上內容節錄自貝塔語測《論證型英文寫作速成教戰》作者：Quentin Brand ＜好書推薦＞《新多益大師指引：字彙滿分關鍵【MP3數位下載版】》無論多益測驗題型怎麼改，厚實的單字力始終是高分關鍵！
