Raj:Let’s take a closer look at the amazing growth in India. For the past three years, the economy has grown at more than eight percent per year. It’s the second-fastest growing economy in the world, behind China.
Cindy:I have a question about the Indian stock market.
Raj:Could you please hold your questions until after thepresentation? I’ll answer that question later. Thank you.
Raj talks for another 30 minutes about the opportunities in India, covering several areas.(關於印度的商機,拉傑又談了三十分鐘,內容涵蓋好幾個領域。)
Raj:Does anyone have any questions? Please feel free toask any questions.
Daphne:I know India and China are really growing right now. But is this really sustainable over a long period? I get the feeling this type of incredible growth can’t continue forever. Isn’t it possible that there could be some kindof collapse in the growth?
Raj:No. There are no real signs that this growth is going to slow down significantly in the near future anyway. Are there any more questions?
Simone:I’ve read that there’s still a lot of poverty and unemployment in India. Couldn’t these problems threaten the Indian economy?
Raj:It’s true that poverty and unemployment are problems in India, but, generally, the population is becoming more affluent. This greater prosperity should definitely help the economy in the long run and enable it to keep going. I guess that’s all I wanted to say about unemployment and poverty. Well, that concludes my presentation. Thank you for listening to my presentation.
Could you please hold your questions until after the presentation?
Please feel free to (ask/raise) any questions.
That’s all I wanted to say about (sth.).
The turnover is below our expectations.
below 則是「與某物有距離,比其物低」的意思,也就是 being on a lower level(在較低的位置)。
ex: Their price is well below our expectations.

ex: Our sales revenue is below our expectations.
ex: We have to keep overall price increases 4.5% below inflation.
