Hal:All right. Let’s take a look at some of these ideas. Who would like to comment on Tanya’s idea?
Sonia:In my opinion, it’s a wonderful idea. People hate using old technology when new, better cell phones are available. Hal, how do you feel about it?
Hal:I agree it’s a good concept. We need to develop a campaign that will really capture the imagination—something that will make consumers want to run out and buy a new NWC GR8 videophone.
Mike:OK, I’ve got it. We could show a robot using a GR8 to talk to another robot, and...
Sonia:I’m not sure that’s a good idea. Robots are nothing new, and they’ve been used too many times in ads and movies.
Tanya:From my point of view, I don’t think it’s a good idea to use robots, either. Robots are cliché, and don’t capture the imagination. We need something new and fresh. We need to use a different approach to promote this product.
Hal:Exactly. There must be a new way to look at things that we can use to build our ad campaign.
Mike:Let me try again. How about comparing the GR8 to innovative products and the competition to old, outdated inventions?
Hal:That’s a brilliant idea, Mike! Now you’re cooking with gas.
