‘Do’ is a very common verb in business English, and it is used with nouns to form word partnerships which have several meanings. Here is a list.
*We can use it with ‘favour’ to ask people to do things for us. ‘Can you do me a favour?’
*We can use it to describe how hard you are working, when you are doing your best effort for someone. ‘I am doing my best.’
*We can use it to describe a certain set of actions which are often (but not always) about research or study. ‘We are doing some research into this.’
*We can use it with nouns to mean ‘do business’.
Task 1: Sort the nouns in the word partnership table into the correct meaning.
