Last month we looked at some common business word partnerships you can make with common verbs. This month, we are going to do more work in this important area.
Let’s look at the verb ‘keep’. This verb is used with two different meanings, both about different ways of dealing with information. One set of word partnerships means communicating information: ‘keep you informed about’ and the other about storing information: ‘keep a record.’
See if you can sort the word partnerships in the following table into these two areas of meaning.

*‘keep s/o posted as to s/th’ and the other ‘posted’ word partnerships have the same meaning as ‘keep s/o updated’. ‘Keep s/o abreast of n.p.’ and ‘keep s/o advised of n.p.’ also have the same meaning. *‘Keep s/th in mind’, and the other ‘mind’ word partnerships mean: ‘remember.’
