Now let’s look at the verb ‘pay’. In a general sense in business English ‘pay’ means ‘give’. It is usually used when we talk about dealing with money, when talking about business costs and payment methods.

*‘pay good money for s/th’ means it was expensive: ‘I paid good money for that computer.’ *Notice that with some word partnerships you need to use ‘of’ before the number, but with ‘bill’ you need to use ‘for’ before the number: ‘I paid a bill for $200 US Dollars.’ ‘He charges a fee of $70 per hour.’
