This month we’ve learnt a lot of business word partnerships for the verbs ‘implement’, ‘schedule’ and ‘review’. This week we are going to practice what you have learnt. I hope you can remember the previous weeks’ work! You might want to review the word partnership tables from the last three weeks before you try the next two tasks.
Task 1: Read the first email and underline the word partnerships from the previous weeks’ work.
To all department managers,
Regarding the current crisis, please be informed that I intend to have a meeting on Friday afternoon to review the current situation. I hope to have a chat with several of you beforehand to get your ideas on what strategy we should implement.
During the next week, I will be scheduling an appointment with each department head to review the details of the arrangements for redundancy packages. I hope it will not be necessary to lay off staff, but we are going to need to implement changes to the workforce or salary structure. In the meantime, please review the attached guidelines for redundancy procedures.

Task 2: Now complete the gaps in this second email with the correct form of the verb: ‘schedule, ‘implement’ or ‘review’.
Dear Mandy,
I have studied your proposal and would like to make the following comments.
It will be difficult to __(1)__ many of your ideas as they now stand. You need to __(2)__ the financials as I think some of the figures may be wrong. Also, if we __(3)__ your suggestions for restructuring, we will have to __(4)__ salaries for next year, something I am not prepared to do. However, I do like your idea of __(5)__ a system of safety checks and emergency measures.
I would like to __(6)__ a visit to the plant for next Thursday, to see for myself the situation you describe. I hope we can __(7)__ lunch together and talk about these issues. In the meantime, I will have a word with Michael to see what he thinks about your proposal.
