蝙蝠飛行靠的是聲納，不是視力。一般認為，蝙蝠的眼睛是看不到東西的。因此，如果說某人 "is blind as a bat"，就是說他／她看不見東西。

正確說英文
所有學習語言的人都應該分析自己製造出來的錯誤！語言文字上的錯誤會造成溝通上的困擾，更會使說話者的專業形象大打折扣。要掌握一門語言，必須掌握英文語法與語意的特質，培養使用正確英語的良好習慣。
突破盲點：表示「否定」的「也」，應該用either；too 只能表「肯定」的「也」，如：A: I think I'll go. B: I think I'll go, too.
A: I don't think I'll go to the meeting tomorrow.
B: I don't think I'll go, too.
B: I don't think I'll go, either.
A：我想我明天不會去開會。
B：我想我也不會去。
突破盲點：本例中由於第一句明白指出有「兩」個原因，故「除第一個原因之外」應用besides that 表達。注意besides 的這個用法為介系詞，如單獨使用besides「而且」，則為副詞，意思不夠清楚。

突破盲點：Although 為從屬連接詞，but 為對等連接詞，二者不可同時使用（雖然中文可以說「雖然⋯⋯，但是⋯⋯」），只能擇一。
