Good morning, everyone. John, our accountant, has informed me that we will have a field audit on our tax return in two days. As our bottom line was in the black and our debt-to-asset ratio was quite low the last fiscal year, I suppose the agent wants to check our earnings, expenditures and deductions. So I need every employee to carefully check over his or her expenses and reimbursements for errors. The due date is tomorrow.
大家早安。我們的會計師約翰已經通知我，兩天後我們將接受一項關於納稅申報的實地稽核。由於我們上個會計年度的最終損益有盈餘，而且我們的資產負債比又相當低，因此我想稅務官員想檢視一下我們的收益、支出及扣除額。所以我要請每位員工仔細檢查各人的支出費以及退還款是否有誤。截止日是明天。

*CPA (= certified public accountant) 是指「執業會計師」
2. audit【及】查帳；稽核【名】查帳；審計
*auditor（查帳員；稽核員）
3. tax return納稅申報表
4. bottom line最終損益
*記載於損益表（income statement）「最後一行」的數字。
5. in the black有盈餘
*in the red（有赤字）
6. debt【名】欠款；債務
*debtor（債務人）、creditor（債權人）
7. asset【名】資產
*「負債」則說成liability。而real asset指「不動產」，如土地、房產等。
8. fiscal year會計年度
*又叫accounting year，從每年的7月1日算至隔年的6月30日。
9. earnings【名】所得；收入（複數形）
10. expenditure【名】經費；支出
11. deduction【名】減免（額）；扣除（額）
*income deduction（所得減免）
12. expense【名】經費；費用
*同義字為cost，可指「費用」或「成本」
13. reimbursement【名】償還；退還
*用於指由員工先代墊，而公司於事後「償還；退還」給員工的費用。
14. due date 截止日；到期日
*同義字為deadline
