No matter what happens, you should never give up on your dream.
= Whatever happens, you should never give up on your dream.
不論發生任何事，你都不該放棄你的夢想。

No matter how the weather is tomorrow, we’ll go to the zoo.
= However the weather is tomorrow, we’ll go to the zoo.
不論明天天氣如何，我們都會去動物園。

在上面的例子中，no matter 所引導的子句應該為「直述句」，
而不是一個問句，請避免寫出下面的句子：☒No matter how long does it take, I’ll wait for him.
☑No matter how long it takes, I’ll wait for him.
不管花多少的時間，我都會等他。

和 if 子句一樣，即使在談論未來的情況時，
由 no matter 所引導的子句也用現在式代替未來式。☒No matter where you will go, I’ll follow you.
☑No matter where you go, I’ll follow you.
= Wherever you go, I’ll follow you.
不論你去哪，我都會跟隨你。

現在讓我們來比較另一個意思同樣為「不論......」的好用句型：

Whether you like Tom or not, you have to get along with him.
不論你喜不喜歡湯姆，你都得跟他相處。

當 whether 後面接的句子較長時，也可以直接把 whether or not 放在句首：
Whether or not you like Tom, you have to get along with him.
